I’ve been fishing for trout for more than 25 years and have learned many tips and tricks that have helped me catch many trophy trout in that time. My fishing mentor, the man who originally taught me how to trout fish, introduced me to many of these concepts and these tips have been very useful to me.

We’ve had great success with using an egg sinker, a bottom bouncer and a herring in a herring teaser. It may take some experimentation on your part to get everything to come together, but the rewards are worth it! The Lake Trout will hit hard and hit often and it makes it well worth the time to try this new technique.

If you like this post, please buy me a beer for $3 8-)One of the most versatile of all lures, the grub mimics baitfish better than almost any other soft plastic bait, and they can be fished many different ways and all year round. A grub’s fat short body and thin twisting tail displaces a tremendous amount of water as it moves along, the bass picks up the vibrations with its lateral lines and movement means food. Once the bass has found the bait its natural shape and color gives him no reason to suspect a trap.

Although it’s not in the same league as your rod and lures etc., the quality of the fishing chair is often overlooked. However, if you plan a day-long fishing trip, or an even longer fishing holiday, the chair can become so important for your comfort and hence your enjoyment of the whole trip.

If you like this post, please buy me a beer for $3 8-)Fishing in the middle of a warm summer night for Large-mouth bass when your the only person around is one of my favorite things. This is a great pattern for the dog days of summer when the bass are buried deep hiding from the sun and the heat of the day, not to mention all the people and anglers on the water in the summer months. Top-water fishing in the middle of the night is prime fishing.

The fish that springs to mind is very under looked and probably one of the most rewarding fish to catch on the UK coastline, they tend to be overshadowed by other popular UK shoreline species such as Bass and Pollack.
